How a Keyline protein works

Disease signal on
  1. 1

    Design

Our model reads the shape of a site on a disease target. It draws a new protein shape that fits the site, then writes the amino acid sequence that should fold into it.

    100Mdesigns scored for each target

  2. 2

    Fold

The chain folds into its 3D shape: the key. Here, three helices. We make each design in our lab and check that it folds as drawn.

9 in 10designs fold as planned (CD and SEC checks)

  3. 3

    Find the lock

The lock is a receptor that crosses the cell membrane. In disease it is switched on too often, and its inside part sends a growth signal into the cell.

Domain IIIthe site where its natural signals bind

  4. 4

    Lock in

The key fits that site but does not switch the receptor on. The natural signals cannot bind, and the growth signal drops.

0.4 nMKD by SPR (lower binds tighter)

AI-designed protein therapies

New keys for hard locks in biology.

Keyline designs new proteins with AI. Each one is built to fit a disease target that is hard for current drugs to block.

Pipeline

Four programs of our own and one with a partner. Each one starts with a target that is hard for other drug types to block. All are investigational.

The platform

Our lab teaches the model every week.

The model designs. Robots in our lab make the proteins and test them. Every result goes back into the model, so the next designs are better.
